MAKE A GENERAL APPLICATION Support Work that Works for You Because our clients’ needs vary, we offer Support Workers a wide range of shift patterns, making it easier to find a role that fits your lifestyle. Options include day shifts, waking nights, and long-day sleeps, typically ranging from 6–12 hours. We also plan our rotas six weeks in advance, giving you the flexibility to organise life outside of work. When you first join us as a Support Worker, you’ll start on a zero-hour contract. However, once you successfully complete probation, usually after three months, you’ll move to an annualised contract, guaranteeing your hours and pay. Support Workers have access to a dedicated Debriefing service, led by our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Specialist. These sessions offer a safe space to unpack challenging experiences or interactions. No matter your role, you will have monthly check-ins with your line manager, ensuring you feel supported, valued, and heard. What challenges do I have? I have autism and I am non-verbal, so it is helpful if people are patient with me and follow my routines. I have sensory issues, so this is something my staff need to monitor. What activities do I do? I love to go on long walks that my staff team will join me on, and I enjoy going on drives. When I move into my new home, and I would like to be encouraged to spend time in the garden and begin exploring my local area. What types of people do I get along with? People with good communication skills, who can help me with decision making and direction, without being demanding. Where do I live and what is my house like? I live in Clayton-le-Woods near Preston and Leyland. I have a lovely house with a big garden and lots of space for activities and a sensory room. My team How many people support me at one time? I am supported by 3 staff at a time. My staff don’t physically intervene but may need to de-escalate and redirect me. What are my team trained in?
