Home > Case studies > Michael Moore, Learning & Development Manager Michael Moore, Learning & Development Manager “One of the things that we try and do is support people to be more effective in their role, to be safer, more comfortable and more engaged.” What’s the best part of your role? It’s the feedback from the people that we train. We have some really good staff here that deliver the training. If you were to describe your job in one word, what would it be? Evolving. In the last 12 months there has been of a lot of change in the organisation as a whole, and when there’s changes, we have to support the organisation as we move forward. How has your career progressed since joining Amore Complex Care? When you’re in my role, as a Learning & Development Manager or Head of Learning & Development, usually my role tends to be the one that I don’t get developed. But since I’ve been here in the last 12 months, I have had plenty of opportunity for development. I’m doing my level seven apprenticeship and I’m doing various train the trainer courses. What advice do you have for someone considering a career at Amore Complex Care? No surprise, engage with the training. One of the things that we try and do is support people to be more effective in their role, to be safer, more comfortable and more engaged. If you engage with us, you’ll have a much better experience, you’ll be better prepared, better able to cope with setbacks when things go wrong and you’ll just get more out of the job in general. Tell us a fun fact about you. Rather than a fun fact, probably an interesting fact, is that my background is a Plasterer by trade, so I started off in training because I was a Plasterer and I trained people how to plaster, decorate and paint.
