I love my job. The reason I love my job is because of my upbringing. I was in care and I just wanted to give something back as I understand how care works. Also, I love the team that I work with. The lads that are here are absolutely great and you can see that every single one of them care for LR. You can see that everyone’s got the best interests at heart. How would you describe your role in one word? Like a roller coaster. There’s days where you go, wow that was a tough day, but then there’s days where you go, wow, do you what, I’ve just achieved something amazing there. It’s only that you sit back and realise how much you actually do for somebody and the job role that you’re doing and what you do for somebody. You look at the client that you’re looking after and your his family. Everybody here is a family and I think he’d be able to recognise that at the same time. Please share your advice for someone considering a career at Amore Complex Care. You’ve got to have the right attitude because you’re looking after someone and you’ve got a huge responsibility. In this role you develop your own personal skills and you need to be a caring person and that’s what it comes down to. How has your career progressed since joining Amore Complex Care? The training that’s been implemented, Amore’s basic life support training has been incredibly important for my personal development, and I’ve been putting it into my workspace. Also, my team have come back, giving me feedback on regards to the training, saying it’s been more advanced, more personal and more detailed. On my personal development, I’ve been working in care now for 17, 18 years. I’ve got my level three, level five, I’ve been a Manager, I’m Ofsted registered and I just want to keep progressing. People with good communication skills, who can help me with decision making and direction, without being demanding. Where do I live and what is my house like? I am supported by 3 staff at a time. My staff don’t physically intervene but may need to de-escalate and redirect me. What are my team trained in?
